



Cuts and scrapes will happen. What do you do when they do?
It's fun to teach your daughter how to use in-line roller skates – until she experiences that first fall and gets a minor scrape despite wearing protective padding.
A cut, or laceration, occurs when there is a break in the skin. This can be a result of a fall, banging against a hard object or being cut by something sharp. Cuts can be minor, occurring near the surface, or deep, reaching deep tissues such as muscles, nerves or even bone. The most common symptoms are bleeding, pain and decreased function or feeling below the wounded area. Minor cuts and scrapes usually heal without permanent damage or scarring.
