Why headaches happen and what to do about them


Understanding categories of headaches, their symptoms and how they differ can help you predict and reduce the occurrence of headaches.


Just about everyone suffers from a headache now and then. For some lucky people, the pain is mild and occurs very seldomly. For some not so lucky, like migraine sufferers, the pain can be severe and can occur often.

 

There are things we can do that help us anticipate or avoid headaches, reduce their severity and to help us cope with them better.

 

But first, let's look at different kinds of headaches and their symptoms. There are basically 3 categories:
